We don’t always know WHEN the leaves will be at their brightest. Mother Nature keeps that insider info to herself. However, we’ve been following leaf patterns for 10 years now, so we have a good idea of where they start and when they go.

But that’s not the only reason we’re here. We also have awesome ideas of the best ways to experience the entire fall season. We’ll tell you the best fall drives, the best fall hikes, where to find the best fall flavors at Oregon restaurants and new trip ideas that you’ve likely never heard of. Plus, we’ll post amazing deals on lodging, adventures and dining.

Peak Color in the North Oregon Coast Range

Highway 26One of our favorite fall drives is along the westernmost segment of U.S. Route 26, also known as the Sunset Highway, which connects Portland to the Seaside area of the Oregon Coast. The road is lined with towering trees that turn shades of yellow, orange and gold in the fall.
Route 26The Coast Range has reached optimum color in the past week. Pay close attention to an 8-mile stretch west of milepost 26 along Route 26. Bring your camera to snap photos of the vibrant hues, then refuel with breakfast or lunch at Camp 18 Restaurant, located at milepost 18.

At Quailhurst Vineyard in Oregon Wine Country, leaves have turned a bright yellow and provide a sunny backdrop to the deep purple of the grapes. Harvest and crush are happening now throughout the Willamette Valley. Drink it all in on your own road trip!
