First Hints of Fall Foliage

Believe it or not we are already seeing the first hints of fall. One of our staff members spotted a fall red vine maple leaf near Proxy Falls over the weekend. The rest of the leaves will be changing color before you know it. Some of the best colors came out in late October and early November. Keep your eyes peeled as the vibrant yellows and oranges let their glory be known. Now is the time to start planning your fall foliage float along the McKenzie River or reserve a tasting at one of the wineries during the fall crush. Book a room at the Village Green in Cottage Grove, the perfect home-base for a fall foliage filled bike ride along one of Oregon’s newest scenic bikeways.

Turn fall foliage into a family affair. We’re looking for junior leaf peepers. Snap a pic and tell us where you found it, the kind of tree it came from and what you learned about it. Send the info to Molly@EugeneCascadesCoast.org .

  1. I just came back from the store and saw spots of trees already changing color. the foliage is happening way too soon. Maybe it’s the crazy weather patterns that we have been having.

  2. Carol — Can you snap a pic of the changing leaves in Corvallis? We’d love to use them on the blog.
